2020 Primary Election Endorsements by MainPAC

MainPAC Endorsed KS Primary 2020These are the 2020 Primary Election endorsements of MainPAC, the political action committee of the Mainstream Coalition, for races in Kansas.

Our process
Endorsements are decided by a nonpartisan committee (see the 2020 committee members) that deliberates over candidate surveys, available voting records, candidate interviews when needed, and other factors to determine how closely a candidate is aligned with the values of the Mainstream Coalition, and how well their fundraising, organization, and messaging would contribute to their success.

This year MainPAC will not be publishing broad endorsements for the August Primary Election, focusing instead on a handful of races with potentially great impact. Some of these may include races with no General Election contest (making this the de facto General Election), races with diametrically opposed candidates, or other considerations. MainPAC will publish broader endorsements for the November General Election. Endorsement in any given election does not imply or guarantee endorsement in any current or future election. You may view the sample Primary Endorsement Survey here.

How to vote on August 4th
Early voting begins across Kansas on, or around July 20th, 2020. You can vote early in person, or apply for an advance mail-in ballot.

Who is on your ballot?
Go to ksballot.org to see who and what is on your ballot, research candidates, find your polling place, make a plan to vote, and get reminders to cast your ballot, all in one, easy place. If you are in doubt, you can always contact your county election office.

Why vote?
Elections are the best way to have your say in rejecting extremist policies to cut schools, underfund our safety net services, attack our impartial courts, and deny health care where it is most needed. In primaries, when voter turnout is usually low, the most passionate supporters of extreme positions are often the ones who get out to vote. Your vote can have a moderating effect on these extremes. Please vote in the primaries.

Badges
Endorsed candidates are encouraged to use one of the following badges to advertise their endorsement in this election.
